Keeping Your Inner Peace

Once you find your inner peace how do you keep it in the middle of a crisis or just negative or chaotic circumstances in your immediate world ? Or how do you keep it when all is calm? That is a big question, I keep asking myself.
How do I live in peace, live in my body, and live in the world? Just the question itself is healing and when I ask it of myself frequently throughout the day I find that my body softens and my mind softens and I know something important is happening.
In fact a spiritual teacher of mine use to say the question in itself is purifying.
There is so much to react to, so much loss and stress in our small circle of friend and family and in the larger circle in the world. When you hear unpleasant stories or friends and family having difficult times our knee jerk reaction is usually to react with “fear”. This of course takes us out of our peace.
So, start with the question, “how do I keep my inner peace in the middle of chaos”. Then watch your body and see if you can find a calmer place within. Your body speaks its mind and will tell you where you are at and when you reach the inner peace once again.
