Stop The Mind From Worrying

filed in Finding Soul on Mar 3, 2009

How do you stop your mind from worrying?   Just this morning I awakened with a flood of mental worrying.  I watch my own thoughts of worry flood my mind.  I was not even fully awaken or out of bed yet?   How strong the mind can be, that it started to take hold of me before I even began my day.  Does this sound familiar?   Do any of you have worry thoughts enter your mind, even before you get out of bed.  And have you watch or taken note of the speed at which they can enter throughout the day.   More worry and more stress keeps the body tight, the heart closed and the fear level up so high that the decision we make are not necessarily coming from a center place.

So how do you shift the mind from worry to non-worry or to calm?    Well, there is no magic, just many techniques that I am sure you have heard about, but forget about or use only for a short time.  So here is one more technique that may help.

What I have been hearing over and over, coming from many things I read and from my spiritual teachers is the most important thing to do is to  VALUE YOUR INNER PEACE more than anything else.  It is from the place of peace that all that we need to know about our problems or about our life will come to us.

So when you catch your mind in a state of worry, try the following:

l.  “Thank your mind,” and then say,” “I am not going to take that road.”

2.  Let go of the present worry thoughts, visualize them disappearing and now you have a blank empty mind.

3.  Then bring your mind to a calm scene, a picture of a lake, a sunset, a special friend, a child’s joy, a beautiful nature scene, etc. etc.

4.  Do this is the moment and shift yourself away from the worry.

5.  Transform your worry into a question and ask for guidance from your higher wisdom, or higher self,  what is it that you need to know “right now”.

6.  Stop and listen, if you get no answer DO NOT WORRY, it will come.

7.  Go back to your calm visual scene whatever it is and stay there until you shift.

Do the best you can, but practice this every time your find your mind in the worry place.  The more your practice the easier it will become.    VALUE YOUR PEACE ABOVE ANYTHING – THAT IS WHAT WILL MAKE YOUR OUTER WORLD RUN MORE SMOOTHLY.
