Self Esteem Fitness - Beyond Divorce/Breakup

Many ask and I have asked myself, when will this pain be over When will I feel good about myself again. With a new chapter the changes can feel endless, the task ahead can feel overwhelming and your self-esteem will feel challenged. So it is important to take note when you hear your inner voice saying “You Are Not Good Enough”, You Cannot Go On”, You Do Not Have The Money, Youth, Time, Energy, Heart etc etc. Please go over this check list and make sure you are doing the following:
LOVE YOURSELF WITH YOUR FLAWS AND ANY IMPERFECTIONS YOU BELIEVE YOU HAVE
RECOGNIZE YOUR GIFTS AND TALENTS AND MAKE A LIST FOR YOURSELF
CHECK IN WITH YOUR BODY, BY BREATHING DEEPLY AND FEELING YOUR FEET ON THE EARTH
OBSERVE YOUR MIND AND REPLACE THE NEGATIVE WITH THE POSITIVE THOUGHTS
GO INTO YOUR HEART AND FEEL THE BEAUTY OF YOUR INNER CHILD, THE LOVE AND JOY THAT IS ALWAYS THERE
FORGIVE YOURSELF FOR WHAT YOU THINK YOU HAVE DONE WRONG.
SAY “NO”, INSTEAD OF YES WHEN YOU NEED TO SET A BOUNDARY
HAVE REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS OF YOURSELF – AND MAKE A LIST
GIVE YOURSELF DAILY PRAISE FOR THE EFFORTS YOU MADE THAT DAY
STOP AND BE GRATEFUL FOR THE GOOD YOU EXPERIENCED IN YOUR DAY
When all seems difficult and you feel alone, go over the list and do what you can. All of us are on a path of transforming the suffering into joy.
In approaching my new chapter, I sometimes see it as another tall mountain to climb, then I feel the heaviness in my body, mind and heart. I stop myself and give myself a different image, one of a sail boat, sailing across the lake, with the wind and the currents and feeling the ease of the forward movement as the breeze crosses over my whole body. That is my image, make one for yourself that will replace the heavy image you are now holding in your mind.
