Transition- A Time For Growth

filed in Finding Soul on May 15, 2007

When we leave a relationship we enter into a transitional space.   We are leaving some familiar ground and stepping into new territory.   So, we have one foot in one place and one foot in another.   This is often uncomfortable, because we do not have both  of our feet firmly planted in our new life.    So we are off balance and often tip over easily.  We can tip over and can get hurt easily or become angry at someone without knowing exactly why.   We can tip over when we have to make a decision because we are not sure what we want.  We can even be confused about what we want to eat for dinner.

This transitional space also takes place when we are traveling.   When we leave home we go through a number of stops, unfamiliar situations and much is not in our control. But, when we arrive at our destination with both feet firmly planted on the ground we can relax.

Transitions are difficult, but it is an important time.  We have to use our body and our heart as well as our logical mind.  We have to realize we are not in control of everything that happens around us, and we have to surrender and trust that we will find our way.  It is a time of growth and developing a deeper connection with ourselves.
