Think You Are Over Your Ex - And Then Something Happens
Its been 8 months and you have done the grieving work over the breakup. Then one day you ask your ex to drop off something. And all of a sudden your body goes into a grief reaction. Your stomach tightens, your heartbeat quicker, your chest feels stuck and you feel numb from your waist down. Victim thoughts run through your mind, how could he be acting so cold. Didn’t he ever care? Gosh, how stupid was I to give so much and stay so long.
You get mad at yourself and feel like you will never get over these reaction. How could he not care? How could he move on with his life so fast and not appreciate everything I have done for him, and his children?
This is normal. Do not fear, and do not beat up on yourself. Your are releasing more pain. Comfort yourself, and know that men usually block out all of their pain and carry it with them into their next relationship. They often appear that they have it all together, when in fact they are running away from themselves. Women tend to be more connected to their feelings, and in fact blame themselves more often.
Know that you are not a victim. What you did, however long you stayed, was exactly what you needed to do. There is no mistake here, only learning and growth.
You will never be sorry for opening your heart and giving. The important thing is to honor yourself and trust your process. Your higher self is leading you to your right path.
