About Michele Germain
LCSW, LMFT, CBT Psychotherapist & Life Coach
I have been a psychotherapist and life coach for over 25 years. It is my belief in the power of healing that allows us to move forward through life with greater joy and self awareness by developing a deeper connection with ourselves.
It was through a health issue and my own relationship crisis that led me to ask myself the difficult questions: Why is this happening? What is my real path? Am I really connected to my body, mind and soul? What do I need to do differently?
This was my personal journey to consciousness and a deeper belief that any crisis or difficult situation is actually a disguised opportunity to grow and align with our true self. My life experience has compelled me to help others to move beyond their unique relationship difficulty or life crisis. When we have greater clarity we know more about ourselves and this awakens our personal power. This allows us to accomplish our goals, feel greater joy and create healthy relationships
Professional Credentials and Experience
I am originally from Detroit Michigan, where I earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work at Wayne State University. In addition to my degree, I received training at the Rochester Institute of Bioenergetics and became certified as a Bioenergetic Analysis. Bioenergetics is a mind/body approach to uncovering unresolved emotional pain that remains in the body preventing understanding and expression of our true selves.
After moving to California, I became licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist. I am associated with the Southern California Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis and California Society for Clinical Social Work. I have been in private practice for over 25 years working with relationship issues with both individuals and couples.
I have lectured, as well as conducted workshops in Southern California on a variety of mental health topics and relationship issues and led a support group at La Jolla Community Center. My interest in relationships and healing have led me to become a speaker at Second Saturday, for over 15 years, a divorce workshop at Mira Costa College that is now offered coast to coast.
I am presently living in Carlsbad, California with my husband and enjoying my hobbies of traveling, sculpting at a studio in Carlsbad, swimming, and walking on the beach.
